Chaos anyone?

This has been such a hectic time for me. I'm finishing up issue 2, & that should be really exciting, but with all of the other stuff I've got going on, things have been, well, chaotic. So many problems with my automobile situation, etc. But even so, I'm nearing the end of the process it took to get issue 2 done, & that is something to celebrate. I'm going to celebrate that fact by relaxing & taking a breather from drawing.

I think I've earned that right, & summer is just around the corner! I could use some relaxing.

Well. You need to shave down your text some. In a comic pictures and text works together so there has to be balance. If your premise is "super dramatic dodgeball battles between kids that take it really serious" then you don't need to say much besides a dramatically drawn kid, a bell ringing in the background. A teacher with a ball and "Recess is WAR".

Just an example. But make the setup smooth.

I assume you know of Corey Lewis epic kickball comic "Peng!"? It's pretty much this and it's awesome and you should find it. Really, any Corey Lewis in general. If you haven't looked at his stuff here at DA

or seen any of his comics you should check it out.

Thanks for heads up about Corey Lewis & for taking time to critique the comic. The comic is actually not about dodgeball, that scene just sets up the event that the story revolves around. The story is about a pact that a group of children make to live life to the fullest for one year before they have to 'grow up.' But I can also see that all the text on pg 2 & 3 turning people away, b/c it is a lot to take in. Here is the full issue, if you could take some time to read it. I'd really like to know what you think. I'm attaching it in a PDF link, b/c the actual comic is much different from the 1st few pages.
